The lake line
Old Oakville, Oakville
In Oakville, one invisible line does most of the pricing: the QEW. South of it, toward the lake, is where two centuries of old money settled — heritage homes, mature trees, and the harbour at the foot of it all. The closer you get to the water, the higher the number climbs.
Downtown’s Old Oakville is the postcard — walkable Lakeshore Road, boutiques, and the harbour — while Morrison, a little east, is where the estate lots and the town’s very highest prices quietly live. This is lakeside Oakville at full volume.
Bronte, further west, offers a more relaxed take on the same idea: a working harbour, a pier, and a village feel at a slightly gentler entry point. The rule barely changes, though — in Oakville, latitude is destiny, and every block south of the highway costs you.
